Chevrolet is entering the fast-growing mini/city car segment with the Spark, a neat five-door hatchback that will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March. Declaring an intention to lead on fuel efficiency, Chevrolet plans to market the Spark in North America as well as other worldwide markets. The new model is heavily based on the Beat concept car shown in 2007 and much of the development work has been done in Europe. Production will start in Korea towards the end of 2009 with European and UK sales kicking off in early 2010. US sales will commence in 2011. (continued)
