The Peugeot 3008 is a crossover that has the muscular looks and high driving position of an SUV, but is more closely related to MPVs and larger hatchbacks with its flexible, user-friendly interior. On sale late 2009, the model will be the first Peugeot to feature a hybrid power system, combining a diesel engine with an electric motor. This won’t be available until 2011 and up until then the choice will be from Peugeot’s established HDI diesel and THP/VTi petrol units.As well as the hybrid system, 3008 will introduce a number of other Peugeot technological firsts, including a head-up display, an adjustable traction control system to cope with the demands of different surfaces, and a range of advanced telematics/navigation systems.
